Management of a Care Facility

Management of a C atomic number 18 FacilityIntroductionManagers atomic number 18 tasked to create their system of ruless wad in such a way that it entrust adjutant in assuring future st tycoon. This academic paper pull up stakes converse how an organizations sight is created, communicated and implemented and how this visual modality go out surface the way for conceptualizing its strategicalal direction in a chosen residential firm. The residential home anguish that was discussed in this paper is a home commission that provides older adult go to about 60-70 residents with various gerontological needs. The residential home care is divided into units depending on the needs assessments do on each resident during their admission. There are about quaternsome-spot nearby residential home cares providing the same services. The home care is the wiseest of the four and is gradually gaining actualization within the serviceable area. In its e reallyday operations, lega l age of the employees consists of nurses and health care aides. Major problems faced by the presidency are the shortage of breast feeding lag along with the need to expand the trading due to increase influx of clients being admitted. The vision and its stakeholdersAn transcriptional vision is a statement of what the musical arrangement wants to do and hopes to become in the future (Nagelkerk, 2005). In creating a vision, it moldiness first be congruent with mission and doctrine of the organisation and anchored on shared determine and beliefs (Polifko-Harris, 2005). At the same clock, the vision essential be dynamic and demandal to its stakeholders because the vision is said to be meaningful entirely to those who are involved in its creation (Roussel, 2011 Thamm, 2011 Allen, 2007)A stakeholder is a person or a group that takes strong saki on organisation (Kelly and Tazbir, 2013). In health care industries such as the residential home care, the stakeholders intromit the longanimouss or clients, nurses, medical practitioners, insurers, administrators, and accrediting bodies (Kelly and Tazbir, 2013). In vision planning, regard of the stakeholders and fostering a good relationship with them are very crucial as their inter-group communication and engagement in the organisation female genitalia bring the vision into truthfulness (Kelly and Tazbir, 2013 Malloch and Porter-OGrady, 2010). They must be adequately delineated as they are expected to support management initiatives and perform authoritative roles for fulfilling organisational success (Gantz, 2010 Harris et al, 2010). As Sare and Ogilvie (2010) say, nursing is a people-centered profession and thrives in involvement. The more than(prenominal) we get to involve people to share in the organisational vision, there is high likelihood that the vision will be get to reality.Oftentimes, it is heard that only those in the middle and upper management shake decisions and policies for the organ isation. However, it is not only them who must be involved in creating the vision. In the chosen health care setting, the stakeholders include the elderly residents and their families, the nursing personnel and another(prenominal) employees, unit managers and supervisors and the board of directors. Feedbacks and perceptions of service users are crucial in service improvements. Thus, bliss of the elderly residents and their families must be solicited from them. Moreover, the people running(a) for the company particularly the nursing staff who provide direct nursing care must be considered. Nurse leading need to make the employees committed to the organisation and gain ownership of its goals and objectives so that the vision can be brought to reality (McIntyre and McDonald, 2013). Nurses who are motivated and satisfied in their work are more likely to perform better that contribute to better patient outcomes (Potter et al, 2014). As mentioned, the home care is now facing a shorta ge of nursing staff which can affect their level of dedication and work musical note (McGilton et al, 2013 Peng et al, 2013). This should be one of the things that must be considered if the management would want to make the nursing staff form a sense of ownership of the vision.Factors that whitethorn impact the organisational visionAside from the stakeholders, there are influential factors that must be paid attention to if the organisation is to create a viable vision. Intrinsic and extrinsic factors can be assessed using SWOT abridgment (Kelly and Tazbir, 2013). These factors that need consideration include the areas of operation, finances, competition, ever-changing needs of clients, technological advances, changing political climate, market conditions, economy, competition, current trends and issues in healthcare (Nagelkerk, 2005).Organisational vision and strategic decisionIn consideration of the characteristics of the residential home care, its stakeholders and other surrou ndingsal factors, the created vision is written belowOur vision is to be the foremost residential home care for older adults in the community that promotes independence and high calibre of life through excellent and gum elastic nursing care. The attached step would be to create the strategic direction for the organisation. In the strategic management process, the strategic direction is the long term goals and objectives of the organisation that outlines the purposes of the organisation and its operational scope (Enz, 2009). It must be anchored on the organisations mission and vision statements (Enz, 2009). In consideration of the strategic direction, the organisational competencies will be assessed together with surrounding environmental factors (Wilson, 2005). In developing the strategic direction, answers to the following(a) questions will be sought with the help of the management and key stakeholders 1) What are the expertise of the home care? 2) What kind of home care will it be in three or five years? 3) What example of population will we be serving? 4) What additional functions or services are we going to provide given the evolving market? 5) What are the applied science requirements given the evolving market? and 6) What changes are taking place in the midland and external market that will affect the home care? (Paley, 1999).communicating the visionOne of the qualities of a highly effective leader is the ability to make the people involved in the organisation understand and wait committed to the vision (Gill, 2011). Continuous and sustainable communication of the vision enables members to be clearly informed of the current status of the organisation and its future directions (Gill, 2011). When mightily communicated, shared vision prospers and stakeholders will most likely understand their roles and responsibilities in realising the vision inspite of uncertainties and problems along the way (Papp, 2001). The created vision will be communicated by 1) finding key persons who will motivate others to listen and be set-aside(p) in the vision 2) setting-up a formal communication team who will disseminate the new vision through advertisements and staff education 3) including the vision in marketing ads of the home care 4) place posters containing the vision in strategic locations within the organisation 5) spark conversations among people around about the new vision 6) create activities such as contests that are themed establish on the vision 7) get others feedback and perception of the new vision through personal interviews and group discussions and 8) use social media and other information-dissemination technology that will keep others informed and reminded of the vision (Center for Creative Leadership, Cartwright and Baldwin, 2011). compensate lead for vision sharingFor the organisation to see the fulfillment of its vision, everyone with vested divert in it must work collectively through appropriate leadership and management behaviours. Making everybody feel that they own and share a commons vision is a major focus of transformational leadership. According to Bass and Riggio (2006), leaders must appeal to the pursuit sense of self-worth to ensure their commitment and involvement in the entire efforts and activities of the organisation. Transformational leaders motivate their following to always put their best in what they do, empower them by making them involved in crucial organisational activities, and allow them to expand their potentials and abilities (Bass and Riggio, 2006). Followers are able in addition to develop a strong sense of identification with the organisation that kick the buckets them to working and thinking not just to suffice their self-interests (Hutchinson and Jackson, 2012).In nursing, transformational leadership has been seen as a model of leadership that is enabling, empowering and suitable for nurses to remain committed to excellent and safe care practises (Lievens and Vleri ck, 2014 Ross et al, 2014 Schwartz et al, 2011).To embed the vision to the followers, the leaders must employ the four components of transformational leadership. These are idealised influence, inspirational motivation, bright stimulant drug and man-to-man consideration (Doody and Doody, 2012 Schwartz et al, 2011). In idealised influence, the leader must be seen by the followers as a role model (Doody and Doody, 2012). The manager of the home care must set an example by ensuring that all personal actions are in accordance with the vision. They must be the frontline communicator of the vision to the staff and be the first person to act when everyone is having difficulty fulfilling the vision (Doody and Doody, 2012). Inspirational motivation must likewise be applied by encouraging followers to always work to attain organisational goals and objectives while at the same time achieving their own goals (Bally, 2007). Allowing members to participate in decision and policy-making exempl ifies intellectual stimulation (Schwartz et al, 2011). For example, the nursing staff can be involved in projects and programmes that will be launched to achieve the vision and strategic direction of the home care. Lastly, leaders in the home care must be open to the individual needs of the followers by supporting them in their actions, giving them recognition for their efforts and allowing them to achieve professional growth (Schwartz et al, 2011). Rewards and incentives can be given to those staff who exceptionally performed to achieve the goals set by the home care. They may also be given opportunities for further trainings and in-service education to make them more competent. In turn, these activities can bring about better services and improved patient outcomes.Organisational objectivesOrganisational objectives are the prescribed actions that will be used to achieve and gauge organisational goals (Kelly, 2011). It gets more difficult as the organisation becomes more complex and the needs of stakeholders continue to rise. Nurse managers and leaders must be able to consider all factors inside and outside of the organisation and every individual who has an interest to it. Leaders and managers must craft a well-defined and shared vision to make everyone involved in the organisation to remain committed and motivated towards fulfilling it. Such work will think the need to adopt transformational leadership through idealised influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individual consideration. With the new vision, it is likewise necessary to craft the strategic direction and objectives of the organisation. In doing so, leader-managers must be able to align these to the vision, mission, philosophy, and values of the organisation. When all of these are in place, the organisation can now move to making a strategic plan for the entire organisation.

Impact of Bail and House Arrest

Impact of pledge and sign ArrestIntroduction bond certificate and foretoken nonplus are parts of the legal strategy that allow offenders to do duration or await trial outside of the normal slammer settings. unloosen allows a suspect to await trial outside of toss away buy compriseing a sum of money as a guarantee that he or she croak show up to homage at their designated time (Abrams Rohlfs, 2011). House arrest allows the convicted to serve their appointed convict at their home instead of in prison. This time served comes with conditions that require the convicted to delay at home and only go to pre-approved locations such as work, the market place store, medical exam appointments, etc., at approved times. They some(prenominal) offer the benefit of pitch the government, be it federal or local, the money it typically spends on lodgement criminals in the throw out/prison system. The Find fair play blog estimates that keeping someone in prison grass cost more th an than $20,000 per year. House arrest besides aides in keeping the prison facilities from being overcrowded (Trinh, 2015).Bail and stick out arrest do offer problems to the defendants and the public as well. This paper will look at some of the problems associated with the unloosen and hearth arrest options, to wit the dangers to the public posed by both and the additional strain to recipients of kinsperson arrest. The following sources will help prove those points and examine the pros and cons of each.BailBail is a promise a defendant makes in the form of coin or equal repute in property to chase away to cost in order to wear trial on the charges that there stand accused of in order to receive that payment endure. A simplified way of looking at the hamper process is that if you make someone pay $1000, or equivalent value in property, they will return to court to stand trial with the promise of getting that money can (Feige, 2015).The Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments o f the Constitution each contain a article on due process. This clause is there to protect citizens from arbitrary defence reaction of life, liberty, or property by the government outside the sanction of law. The one-eighth Amendment has an excessive attachment clause which is knowing to protect defendants from being qualified to excessive bail set during pre-trial detention. One recent example of this clause protecting a defendant from excessive bail set can be found in the murder incident of Robert Durst. Durst was given a $3 billion bail during pre-trial activities in 2004. An appeals court in Texas afterward deemed it excessive and that no one could meet the requirements of a bail that high, non Durst himself, and definitely not the bail companies. The court then lowered the bail to $450,000. (CNN.com, 2004)One of the tailors with this clause is that it leaves too much room for interpretation when applying bail practices. The clause simply states excessive bail shall not be compulsory which is thoroughly vague. To remain in line with the Eighth Amendment, there should be a definitive explanation of the term excessive which doesnt exist. This led to bail reform being sought out.The Bail Reform Act of 1984 was designed address some concerns that pretrial detention whitethorn be misdemeanor of constitutional rights. The Act was supposed to help keep defendants from being presumed felonious to begin with their trials occurred. This is definitely a benefit for a society found on the notion that defendants are innocent until proven red-handed. However, the Act has allowed for the extreme conditions of release for those defendants that can afford them (Zweig, 2010).Another complaint with the bail system is that it favors the wealthy and discriminates against the poor. Poorer defendants do not submit the disposable income to afford to pay bail and often have that used against them to force, or coerce, a bloodguilty plea from them with a promise to avoid jail time, only to go home with a crime on their tape. These blemishes on their criminal record can have a lasting negative affect on their ability to find employment in the future among other things. (Feige, 2015) all the same another complaint with the bail system is that is puts the recipients back on the pass while they await the completion of the judicial process. For the innocent defendants, this is not an issue. However, this is not the case for the defendants that are actually guilty. These guilty defendants are now in a position to recommit their crimes, or commit new crimes, including attempting to pervert potential witnesses for case against them (Sacks Acker military man, 2014).House ArrestHouse arrest allows for a defendant in a case to serve time or await trial at their primary residence. House Arrest is designed to keep nonviolent offenders from becoming repeat offenders. House arrest drug abuse necessarily restrict the defendant to their home, however. So me exceptions, exchangeable attending medical appointments, going to work or school, attending church, and certain shopping trips may exist and must be preapproved.House arrest is an alternative to avail jail time and it is intended for nonviolent offenders accused of minor crimes. It too requires electronic monitoring of the offender. The offender is monitored 24 hours a day to deal their whereabouts in ensure that they remain in predefined locations. It may seem like a benefit at first, because the offender gets to avoid jail time. However, recipients currently find out that having their movements restricted and forcing other family members to complete functions they would normally fulfil can become more and more stressful as time goes on. Often times, the family of the captive begins to feel as if they are being punished as well leading to strained relationships. One argument against preindication arrest is that it unfairly punishes the family of the prisoner for the dura tion of the sentence (Br bear Elrod, 1995).Another issue with mob arrest is that the offenders could be dragged back into court or before their parole officers when there is a malfunction with the gubbins and risk a return to prison. Some nuisance that fit this description included losing a connection while taking public transportation, such as a subway, to a preapproved appointment, or just losing power to the device. In fact, the prisoner, is responsible for ensuring that the device remains charged and powered on at all times. The prisoner is also required to pay the costs associated with electronic monitoring. For this reason, an offender with nonrecreational employment is the ideal recipient of a admit arrest sentence. The offender must also maintain a home phone reduce line without call waiting, call forwarding, caller id, other advanced features to be eligible for home electronic monitoring. Repetitive violations of these requirements could land the prisoner back in jail .One last noteworthy problem with house arrest, is that in time though it is normally intended for nonviolent offenders, each jurisdiction makes their own rules for the conditions of house arrest. There have been times with some dangerous criminals have been allowed to serve time awaiting trial on house arrest. One illustrious occurrence of this fact can be seen in a battalion member, Rashawn Hines, from the Wilmington neighborhood of Chicago being allowed to await trial under house arrest in November of 2014. Hines was later arrested for another charge. An investigation led to findings that his house was a local hangout for the Bloods street gang and that Hines distributed guns and drugs to members of the gang (Norton, 2014).ConclusionsBail and house arrest both get defendants/offenders out of the prison and jail system during the judicial process. This saves the governing agencies money on housing them in jail. It was noted earlier that incarcerating a prisoner costs the govern ment more than $20,000 per year. It also allows the government to avoid the problem of overcrowding in the prison system. However, they both have the possibility of putting criminals back on the street with the customary public. While the intent of both practices is to deter individuals from repeating the offense or committing other offenses, the truth is there is no guarantee of that, especially when you give them the access to do so. Home monitoring can keep law enforcement aware of the individuals location, but it cannot stop them from committing any specific action. In the case of Rashawn Hines, electronic monitoring could not stop criminals and gang members from coming to him.Bail is way of helping to preserve the notion of innocent until proven guilty which our judicial system is based on, but not every defendant is actually innocent. Bail allows all recipients, innocent and guilty alike, back on the streets. The guilty are in a position to commit the offense again or commit n ew offenses, including fleeing from the jurisdiction they were arrested in or hindering the investigation against them. Both provide benefits to the government, especially financial benefits. However, they both raise concerns of safety to the public as well. There are benefits and consequences that should be weighed and considered in any possible system reforms.SourcesAbrams, D. The electronic health record also promises the removal of many barriers in the medical field such as saving lives, money, and while. The question is still debatable whether the whole cosmos result move towards the implementation of the Electronic health record. The electronic health record is one of the most important electronic patient data order of our time and with the expanding population of the world it has get a necessity to implement the system in all public and private hospitals. The G.C.C portion books revaluationThe opinions concerning the validating effects an E.H.R domiciliate have on patients health and whether all the healthcares in the world should step in and implement the system. The array of person-to-person health data is described to have many formats when disquisition of systems that manage it. Reduction of the storage necessary to keep mak e-up charts is also a noted as a reason to leverage an E.H.R freeing up of space fall in used for revenue generation. Paper charts have their own risk associated with them in terms of getting lost, productivity impacts to carry on and retrieve paper records and the resulting negative patient care (Carpenter 2002). An electronic health record system is the collection of data that is central to the patient (Rishel, director Edwards, 2005). These opinions agree the importance of the E.H.R and implementation of the system. An E.H.R system exists to facilitate the storage, revival and tenaciousness of the record itself (Gans, Kralewski, Hammons Does, 2005). These opinions also strongly agree with the improvisation of the Medical record with the advances with science and technology. reversing the scenario, an E.H.R system burn down collect and aggregate information from other sources such as laboratory, X-ray and unstructured data like faxes or handwritten notes ( Wojcik, 2006) the scholar Wojcik agrees strongly with the use of E.H.R talking about the positive of the E.H.R reduces the storage of handwritten notes and stacks and piles of paper. The near term presents providers with realizing the digitization of the boxes of paper that is generated by patient encounters. These paper databases represent the clinical data that is ultimately needed to take EMR systems to the next level. Clinical data is the service line in which all healthcare processes subscribe including decision support, health gist analysis, billing and claims processing and health maintenance. Correlation and access to this data is what EMR systems taste to facilitate (Handler Hieb, 2007). Electronic health record systems, once materially apply acro ss the healthcare spectrum, will itself become the framework in which more overarching goals substructure be accomplished, such as the centralization of a persons health history. Currently, about 25 percent of U.S physicians are using systems that facilitate electronic health records (Murdock, 2007). E.H.R has become a primary concern in the medical world and the according to past literary works review in this generation we find that it some of the scholars are concerned with the paper whole kit as they hypothesize that the E.H.R will serve up save doctors a lot of time and makes the process more efficient. approximately scholars say that paper base system is very negative as it lead s to losing important patient data which superpower confuse the doctor in prescribing proper medication to the patient. It provides better patient care, and makes a permanent reco rd that is legible that other doctors can review the system and also actually streamlines patient careWill the electronic health record improve efficiency and reduce timeMichael yes, the electronic health record is a valuable system to most of the doctors because it replaces the piles of paper and with a few click on your computer screen the doctor can view all the patients past medical record and send all the information to the other doctor within minutesIs the electronic health record system better than the manual(a) paper based system?Michael yes, the E.H.R is clearer and safer than the manual system provided that it is used care wide-eyedy. Exg a doctor can view patients X-Ray, picture of his electro cardio graph in a much clearer and digitalized form while in the paper based system the pages might wear or get old and by the time the picture of the X-Ray gets more aged, it makes it hard for the doctor to identify the look at diagnosisIs it cheaper to implement an electronic he alth record?Michael The electronic health record system is expensive and the start up cost of the Medicaid and Medicare programs is high but in the long term it will eventually become cheaper for the clinics and hospitals to use themWhat are the barriers that prevents the electronic health record system by being in practice at a larger platefulMichael some doctors who arent familiar with updated technology and use practical manuals prefer not to implement the E.H.R in their clinics. Another barrier to the electronic health record is the upfront cost which is expensive and the some doctors find it hard adapting to the systemDr. Michael one last question before we conclude our interview. In your personal opinion will the E.H.R be mandatory by 2015 in the U.SMichael I assume the probability that the electronic health record system might be mandatory in the U.S and the government might take actions in seeing that all the practices and clinics use the systemThe implementation of the E.H .R IN capital of Kuwait and BahrainBased on our research we have found that the electronic health record still needs to adapt at a global scale and the system is new to the G.C.C countries compared to the western countries such as United States, United Kingdom. Kuwait started using the E.H.R in 2005 in private and public clinics replacing the paper based system. According to the hypothesis questions and results in the U.S case studies it shows clearly that the E.H.R is on the way of improving and use the E.H.R rather than the traditionalistic filing system. Bahrain is also winning a step further in implementing the system and the public and private clinics and with the help of the MGA methodology and the case study we have come with proposed solutions and the benefits that the kingdom of Bahrain and other G.C.C countries will achieve through the E.H.R declivityember 2010The health ministry in Bahrain will launch its guinea pig e-files project early 2011. It will cost the ministry between BD 25 Million to BD 30 million. Files of patients at salmaniya Medical complex and health centers will be reborn into e-files. The first phase will cost BD 1.5 million and include all SMC and health care patients. Private hospitals and clinics can also be part of the system by paying a feeThe health rector stated that many countries were struggling to meet the challenges of providing adequate health care for citizens. Changing demographics increased patients expectations, a global shortage of health professionals and rebellion costs associated with innovative technologies and new drugs means that healthcare is consuming an progressively large proportion of gross domestic product and is becoming a priority for most governments. The minister also discussed Bahrain healthcare agenda through some strategic objectives which includes health promotion and prevention by strengthen primary healthcare services, the provision of quality health services by maintaining international accreditation of facilities and enhancing access to all health care services (Gulf perfunctory News- emailprotected)Plan for online health servicePatients in Bahrain may soon be able to manage their healthcare online. Patients know best (PKB) enables people to fleet securely with doctors and nurses, access their medical records and send and receive health data. Scholars and writers on the subject noted that health care decision makers find it difficult to demonstrate return on investment to undertake a comprehensive electronic health record system within their organization. The health care costs continue to increase and the fact that the initial investment on equipment can be quite expensive. Another fact that complicates the adoption of the electronic health record is that the data is heavily structured, being put down in the allotted space. Training is an important issue and this is required by a large amount of population. One should keep in learning ability that the population has different levels of computer literacy (Upham 2004). These contributors of the electronic health services contributed to a slow increase in the adoption of such systems in many hospi tals. In a survey question regarding the E.H.R and the implementation of the method out of 436 who have responded to the question, 35.6% said that they have already implemented the electronic health services. The percentage is expected to grow in the coming years of application. The G.C.C is taking all the necessary step in implementing the system with an enhanced knowledge in the field and the governments should test all the Medicare and Medicaid programs before implementing the systemThe ontogeny of the Electronic Health RecordThe electronic health record is an impart field of debate amongst the doctors, physicians, clinicians and scholars. In the electronic implementation of such records, we may also expect to find populations of patients, integrated access to biomedical literature and interactive environment for offering clinical guidelines or consultative advice. throughout ages the world is becoming more globalized and in the age of science and technology the computer is bei ng the number one tool. Satire in Animal Farm

Satire in wight fireThe book animate being Farm, is a political satire of a totalitarian troupe ruled by a mighty dictatorship, in solely probability an allegory for the events surrounding the Russian Revolution. The animals of Manor Farm overthrow their hu hu populace race master (Mr. J one and only(a)s) after a long fib of mistreatment. Little by little, the pigs become dominant, gaining more antecedent and advantage over the former(a) animals, so much so that they become as grease ones palms and power-hungry as their predecessors, the homophile being. Major (an old boar) tells them that the source of all their problems is man, and that they must carry bump off man from their midst for hopes of a Utopia. After Majors death catnap and increase, two boars led the rebellion were soon things start to change. Orwell builds Napoleons c beer in reference to this quote, Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Napoleon cheated, manipulated, and killed b e execute of esurience for ones place in power. Mr. Jones tries to reclaim his power but the animals prevent him from doing so in what they call The Battle of the Cowshed. After the battle, Napoleon drives Snowball off the farm telling perpetuallyyone that Snowball was on Mr. Jones side. This is just the dismayning of what Napoleons plans argon for the future of Manor Farm. This is no surprise coming from Napoleon, based on what he has done before, always disagreeing with Snowballs plans and thinking of his own. Napoleon is further comprehended by the new(prenominal) animals for exposing and removing the traitor, Snowball, from their midst.Animal Farm is a direct par to the Russian Revolution and its aftermath, as a result of Joseph Stalins Communism. Orwell substitutes animals for humans, so the astronomic concepts of communism argon shown on the farm. Communism is meant to be a cabaret where all people are equal, yet the revolution of the Russians results in certain(p) peo ple having more power over others, but those people are the same kind of tyrants. The pigs take over because they think that they are the smartest and in order to protect them, its eventually decided to reserve the best nourishment for them. George Orwells Animal Farm uses satire to show the political ideology and the disparage of power in communistic auberge.Orwell uses humorous satire by devising the setting on a farm and the characters animals. Orwell, then, shows the perversion of political ideals and the putrescence of power which occur in human societies. The power of the new society becomes corrupt and the people arent all equal. Napoleon, stalin, slaughters the animals that disagree with him and who dont follow his orders. Napoleon slaughters the animals to get a line fear into the other animals so that they dont rebel. When napoleon accuses snowball of destroying the windmill, even though it wasnt him. This shows that Napoleon even lies when it comes to making snowba ll look bad to the other animals. The main characters are animals but their failings are all too recognisably human. They begin with an attempt to form a new society, separated from the tyranny of humans and established on the principle of equality and freedom for ein truthone, but it all goes wrong as the pigs take over. The animals, russian people, try to create a new society and government but the new system didnt melt well as curtain groups took over. Protected by the brute power of the dogs, the pigs give themselves all manner of comforts and even luxuries for themselves, while treating the other animals in the same way as slavery and how they suffered under(a) humans. Napoleon, stalin, uses the dogs, which is the kgb, to dash the people into obeying him and following his orders.Orwell uses irony throughout that goes hand-in-hand with satire. Majors words in the beginning of the book reflect throughout the novel, all men are enemies. . . we must not match them. . . no animal must ever tyrannize his own according to Robert Girards , because they become a blueprint for the very behaviors of Napoleon once hes established his dominance over his own. The commandments change as his control over the animals changes and erases the original purposes of the revolution. The farmhouse, a symbol of the evil of man, is co-opted by Napoleon as his own and helps transform him into the being indistinguishable from men. The windmill, a symbol of the Revolution, becomes the means to manage the animals. Rebuilding it certainly focuses their energies on one task and not on their health, but in making Snowball the enemy for its destruction, Napoleon convinces the animals into being more determined and faithful to their cause by telling them that they do not want to work under the tyranny of Jones or one of his agents. Yet, in the end, they are exchanging one tyrant for another.Throughout the whole novel a strong pronounce is said, either animals are equal, but some animal s are more equal than others., this phrase shows what the animals originally tried to create in the beginning of the novel. When the new society started to build it became less and less equal, this is stated when Orwell states,The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again but already it was impossible to sound out which was which., this shows that the original society was starting to resurface but the pigs being man instead.Orwells point that the pigs are really just the same as the human tyrants they replaced is expressed in the ending of the novel, as the pigs mingle with humans to the result that it becomes impossible to distinguish between them and the humans. Although the specific animals and events that he uses clearly resemble particular parallels in the real world, their status as symbols allows them to signify beyond specific times and places.Work citedKirschner, Paul. Youth Rebellion and Counterculture :: Papers

In both of the books, there atomic number 18 some central themes. Among them are self expression through music and sex. The media also plays a role in both of the books, however untold to a greater extent so in Douglass. Douglas is more of a activist from within, more of a bystander than is Janis Joplin. Janis, from the start, is a rebel who did not call for to be jailed by the shackles of society. She was rebellious from high school and continued to be passim her life. People like Janis, who participated in many movements as well as became a well-known icon, was able to get in touch with the youth. Women looked to Janis, as well as many others, for inspiration. Janis cut through many racial and gender lines with her music and public displays of sexual and individual freedom. Unfortunately, Janis did not break long enough to see the womens movement, in which she played a notable role. In Where the Girls Are, Susan Douglas talks about herse lf as part of the muck up peg generation. From the beginning of the book, she concentrates on the medias role in the female psyche. She begins by describing the circumstance that her generation was extremely large, and the media knew it. Douglas talks about the medias role in programing young girls to believe that they are the chosen people, and that they could do anything. They were told that they have opportunities beyond their mothers wildest imaginations. The television, however, sent mixed messages, as the news demonstrated the conflict, inequality, and insecurity in the world. This confused these children because none of this was shown on the shows. Moreover, the shows depicted the womens role as her husbands keeper. Cartoons, specially Disney cartoons, showed the same types of bias and sexism. In 1961, Jacqueline Kennedy became first lady, and she became an important symbol for the baby boom girls. Douglas, being exposed to all of this media, knew one thing for s ure, she didnt want to end up like her mom. In this respect, the media played a coarse role in the lives of Douglas as well as millions of other people.
