Khaled Hosseinis The Kite Runner In the Kite Runner, the author explores the ties that bind sons to male parents and puerility friends to one another and of the forces that tear them apart. Throughout the novel, Khaled Hosseini uses many literary devices such as parallelisms, and characterization, and symbolism. The main message is there is a way to be good once more.Amir is continuously changing throughout the story as he narrates it which is evident through the characterization the author displays. He is unendingly selfish when with Hassan, treating him as a servant but expecting a stovepipe friend attitude in return. He then realizes his mistakes growing up in Afghan istan and America and changes his ways, trying to get redemption for himself, a nominate theme in the story. Amir always wants to get attention from his develop in his childhood and feels that he is being neglected by his father because he writes stories whereas Hassan is an athletic person. Amir believes Hassan is the son that Baba never had when in mankind he is his other son. Throughout the novel Amir holds guilt of betraying Hassan in that fateful alley and it changes him as a person. I have been peeking into that bedraggled alley for the last twenty-six years. Amirs goal in life after moving to America is to do good again ... ...ast as infants. This is important because in Hassans religion, if you fed from the same dresser then you were brothers. This symbolizes the brotherly connection between Amir and Hassan from the beginning an d the descent between Amir and Sohrab. Another symbol in the novel is the savory kite, which is used both in the beginning and the end of the novel. The kite shows the wed between Hassan and Amir and how Hassan was willing to risk his life for their friendship and how more it meant to him. Also at the end Amir shows his loyalty towards Sohrab, as a way to forgive himself. In conclusion, The Kite Runner is a capital book, and I can read it over and over again, continuing to name to make your own path and forgive your past.
